José Antonio Suárez Londoño. Almanach
June 19 until September 16, 2018

Museum Villa Stuck

The print graphics, drawings, sketchbooks and rubber stamps produced by José Antonio Suárez Londoño (b. 1955 in Medellín, Colombia) since the 1970s form an immense overall work. Suárez Londoño mastered the various techniques of each of these genres, which all focus on everyday life and are distinguished by a unique and very distinctive iconography. However, it is his tireless work as a whole that defines the uniqueness of the artistic practice of Suárez Londoño: his daily and weekly routine, which simultaneously produces an inventory of the world and a personal diary. In Suárez Londoños work, factors such as learning, experience and imagination play a major role, whereby the artist creates a quasi-infinite space in which he manages to overcome time.
The selection of works in the exhibition is one of countless combinations that could have been offered: it creates an Almanac of an internationally eminent Artist and his unique and timeless work.
