Experience 130 years of urban transportation history in person – live!
The historic halls of the Munich Transit Authority Museum display streetcars, busses, and public works vehicles together with paintings and collages from 130 years of public transportation in Munich. Wall charts with pictures and text descriptions provide details regarding manufacturers, technical data, and the "careers of vehicles". In addition, various areas of interest are vividly portrayed: city history, development of traffic networks, the history of technology, uniforms and other accessories, signs and advertising, traffic signals, machines, tools, and the aspects involved in scheduling busses and streetcars.
The subway simulator gives visitors the opportunity to steer a wagon through the underground territories of Munich. The movie room brings the history of the Munich Transit Authority to life with emotionally moving scenes.
Tours are also offered along with special programs designed for children.
