Mel Ramos. 50 Jahre Pop Art - Uwe Lausen. Ende schön alles schön (until 3. Oktober 2010)
Mel Ramos and Uwe Lausen: two protagonists of pop art whose works will remain on view until 3 October in a pair of large-scale exhibitions at the Museum Villa Stuck: "Uwe Lausen. Ende schön alles schön" (All's beautiful that ends beautifully) offers a vivid appreciation of who this self-taught artist really was whose oeuvre can hold its own next to that of painters such as Gerhard Richter and Sigmar Polke. The largest European retrospective to date of the work of Mel Ramos marks both this major pop artist's 75th birthday and the emergence of the pop art movement more than half a century ago.
In 2006 the fate of a young bear called „Bruno“ was observed by many people. It was the first wild bear in Bavaria for more than 170 years. His body is on display in the Museum and provokes to reflect about our relationship to nature.
